It’s the only place you will ever be.
I promise you, you can try to be in the past or in the future. But when you think about where you actually are, it’s only ever right here, right now.
Wanna know something even wilder? Your thoughts are not right here and right now. The moment you have a thought, you are thinking about something that is past or future.
Yes, you might say, “Well, I’m sitting outside and I see a chair. I’m here right now, and I’m thinking about this chair right now.” But you aren’t. Your thoughts are about the chair in the state in which you saw it. If the state of the chair changes, you would need new thoughts to describe it. So once again, they would be describing the past.
We can’t describe the here and now until it’s not here and now.
So what does it mean to live in the here and now?
Does that mean my thoughts are bad?
If my thoughts can’t think of the here and now, are my thoughts a hindrance to me being here and now?
Nothing in life is ever as black and white as that.
I’m sure there’s some middle ground where I have thoughts, but they don’t rip me out of right here and now.
What does that look like?
What does living right here right now with my thoughts not removing me from here and now look like?
Maybe thoughts aren’t for the here and now.
What are they for, then?
When I think about what my thoughts could be for…
What power is in a thought?
Well, I know that sometimes things happen to me, they trigger me, and I can get riled up. The power my thoughts have is to analyze it all, find the joy and good, and then carry on with my new reality.
I picture it as if I’m shifting the negative energy into positive.
So that isn’t a negative.
Maybe it’s pulling me out of the here and now temporarily, but the energy in the here and now wasn’t positive. So my thoughts will convert it, and then I return.
